At age 30, Alisha was pregnant, trapped in an abusive marriage, and addicted to drugs and alcohol. Worse, she became homeless and had no choice but to sleep alone in a broken-down car. Penniless, afraid, and summoning her last ounce of courage, Alisha came to CityTeam Heritage Home for help. Here she found God’s love, as well as programs and services that helped her escape the cycle of poverty, rebuild her life, and overcome addiction. She was able to find restoration, stability, and hope. Now clean and sober, Alisha knows her daughter Emma will never see her mother under the influence; she’ll have a role model she can look up to.
