The "formula" within our neighborhood
and camp program is a reflective yet successful model
of over 40 years of youth ministry experience. We
have through the years changed our approach with the
times, but our focus has and always will remain on
reaching inner-city youth with the transformational
message that Christ offers to us all.
Youth Outreach currently ministers to 450 youth a
week, located within 5 target neighborhoods throughout
East San Jose and East Palo Alto. We offer a holistic
approach to ministering to the needs of urban youth
by placing an emphasis on a complete spiritual diagram
of body, mind and spirit; yet we are also incarnational
as we place a key importance in living in the same
neighborhoods where we minister.
Some of the activities offered both at camp and in
the neighborhood include:
- Bible Clubs
- Discipleship/Mentoring
- Tutoring
- Computer Club
- Learning Centers Field Trips/Outings
- Community Service Projects
- Sports Clubs/Leagues
- Leadership Training
Youth Outreach also hosts an annual Christmas Toy
Drive that collects and distributes over 15,000 new
and unwrapped toys to the needy children of San Jose.
