Imagine dying from drinking a glass of unsafe water! Everyday 5,000 children die from water-borne diseases. So many children don’t have an alternative.

That means that over 1.8 million children will die this year from lack of safe water and adequate sanitation. Can you imagine 208 children will die in one hour?

About every 15 seconds around the world, a child dies from a disease that came from unsafe water, a lack of basic sanitation and hygiene. These are slow painful deaths from diseases such as: dehydration, diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, guinea worms found in dirty water, hepatitis, trachoma, rotavirus, and severe stomach illnesses. Children can’t fight off infections when their bodies are weakened by water-borne diseases. Severe, prolonged diarrhea can also lead to malnutrition and impaired physical and cognitive development.

Water of Life™ Solution

CityTeam International is partnering with Water of Life™, Inc., a company that has developed cutting edge technology to provide an economical clean water system. It has recently passed the US EPA Water Standards that kills 99.99997% of bacteria and 99.9999% of viruses. Other solutions are highly priced and not available in the most remote locations of the world and require expensive drilling solutions. Water of Life’s ™ solution is easy to install and maintain. Together we hope to install thousands of units throughout Africa and Asia. Just one unit will provide safe water for a village of 2,000 people each day. CityTeam has spent the last year testing these safe water systems in villages across Africa making sure that this is the best solution that we can provide.

Water systems build a public gathering place where people can help each other and communities can start disciplining and teaching one another. A water project with CityTeam International doesn't end with just the installation. Through on-going partnership involvement, the project continues with training in maintenance, hygiene, sanitation, economic development, water supply management and distribution. Local people within the communities are raised up to care for their own water project and encouraged to build future projects in nearby villages.

We have been blessed with the opportunity to partner with Noodle & Boo (www.noodleandboo.com) in their company’s Raise Your Hand Campaign that brings awareness to the serious issue of children dying of water-bourne diseases.

They have created the Believe Honey Bar for world change. The profits from this luxury bar of soap will go to the Raise Your Hand Campaign to provide more safe-water systems with CityTeam. The first village this will help is the Heeraraa village of 200 children. After that – there are so many more children in Africa and Asia that can benefit from this life saving program.
