Volunteers are vital to the heartbeat of CityTeam Ministries. With the support of hundreds of volunteers, we as a team can significantly effect change in the lives of the destitute and homeless. Together we can touch real lives, introduce real hope and provide tools for our clients to make real changes in their lives. It's about touching one life at a time.

We value your gifts - talents - commitment - service - and time. Volunteers are truly priceless to this outreach to the poor.

Thank you for your interest in donating your time to make a difference in our Oakland programs! Come see how your involvement can make a difference today!

Volunteer Opportunities

Ongoing Group Activities

CityTeam Oakland needs groups to help with our Food Box Delivery program to families in the Chinatown/West Downtown neighborhood of Oakland. Every Saturday from 9-12 we will package and deliver groceries to those living on the edge of hunger. We can accommodate up to 20 people, and all groups are welcome! Contact Anette at (510) 452.3758 x11 / aboulware@cityteam.org to sign up!”

Bags of Love, open slots available.

Recovery Program Dinner

Calling all cooks! The men in our recovery program work long days serving the homeless and all our guests, while working diligently on their own personal issues, attending church, AA and Bible study. Outside groups provide delicious dinners for the homeless guests frequently, but we would like for these men to enjoy a special dinner of their own and the opportunity to interact with our generous volunteers. Groups would provide food for approximately 30 residents of our facility, plus their own workers. Our professional kitchen is available to prepare the food. This would happen Saturday or Sunday any weekend. The kitchen will be available at 2 pm, with dinner served at 5. It is a wonderful opportunity to bless men who are such a blessing to others.

Please contact Anette Boulware at (510) 452.3758 x11 or at aboulware@cityteam.org to find out about available times.

Street Outreach

Three days a month, our teams make lunches, collect clothing and other items, and hit the streets of Oakland in search of our friends sleeping outside. By sharing a meal, giving out socks and prayer, and getting to know these men and women, the teams build bridges for life transformation. If you are interested in forming a new team, please contact Anette at (510) 452.3758 x11 / aboulware@cityteam.org.

English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers Needed

CityTeam Oakland is beginning a new platform to reach families and we need volunteers who are willing to teach ESL once a week. All training will be provided, and we will work around your schedule. This is an exciting way to build relationships with our community. No experience is necessary, although we would love to have experienced teachers join us! For more info, email Anette at aboulware@cityteam.org or call at 510-452-3758 x11.
