Become a Partner in the Friends of Camp MayMac Program

This summer approximately 600 disadvantaged children and youth will have life-changing experiences at CityTeam’s Camp MayMac. They will have fun participating in the camp’s recreational activities, including archery, swimming, and nature hikes to name a few. However, when I speak with kids who have come to MayMac, it’s not the “what” of camp (programs or activities) they talk to me about, but the “who” … “John, is my counselor going to be back this year?” “What about Gonzo Spike, Kanga, and Selah?” (camp nicknames). Summer Staff are the heart of camp!

This summer, our staff will be coming from all over North America - young people, giving up eight to ten weeks of their time and earning potential to volunteer or work for minimum wage with the disadvantaged, at-risk children and youth that attend our camp each summer. This is a big sacrifice for college-age kids in this day when tuitions are at an all-time high. But they are investing in eternity – making a difference by loving and caring for kids who really need positive role models and mentors in their young lives.

All staff members at CityTeam Ministries raise support to help offset the expenses of the organization. To help us reduce the costs and to keep our fees low for our campers (about $35-150 per week) we ask the summer staff to raise $1,500 US through friends, family, and church. Would you consider being a part of "The Friends of MayMac" You can contribute to the individual summer staff member of your choice or to the staff general fund. To donate to a specific summer staff member, please click on her or his name in the list to the right and follow the directions.

Finally, you can help by committing to pray for the staff at Camp MayMac. Prayer is a significant part of our program since only God can move within the hearts of these children to bring about life-change. Through your assistance, whether in prayer or finances, you will be helping to provide a life-changing week for a child/youth who might otherwise be roaming the tough city streets….
