4 Phase Approach
As we turn compassion into action, we care for each person’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Our four phase approach focuses on the long-term recovery of a community by helping one person at a time.
RESCUE PHASE:
Those devastated by an unexpected disaster need help and they need it quickly. Our Response Teams will support local, state and federal first responders to provide immediate help.
RELIEF PHASE:
In the midst of a disaster, our focus is to assist with meeting peoples’ immediate needs such as water, food and shelter. We walk alongside a community as they begin the healing process. Helping a community begin to return to normal daily life is our goal.
RECOVERY PHASE:
The emotional toll that a disaster brings can be even more devastating than the financial strain. Knowing that someone cares and is there to assist brings peace of mind enabling the recovery process to begin. We provide case management to assess the needs of individuals and their families in order to better serve them. We also provide spiritual and emotional care to survivors and caregivers, offering relief and hope.
REBUILDING PHASE:
What sets CityTeam apart from other agencies is our commitment to the long-term rebuilding and recovery of communities impacted by disasters. Through the dedication and efforts of thousands of volunteers, and the generosity of our financial supporters, we are able to rebuild not only lives, but homes. During the first two years after Katrina we helped to rebuild over 175 homes and our work there continues.
